7:42 pm - Greetings.
|
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's been awhile. Judging from the comments in my journal, it seems I've been missed, which is nice.
I've been a bit down. I went from one bad relationship with Lisa Marie into another with Helena. I don't know how I let myself get suckered in. I thought she'd be another good beard to have around, but if it's possible, she's an even bigger nightmare than her predecessor. I have to find a way to cut her loose without losing vital organs in the process.
And meanwhile, the doctor has diagnosed Danny with narcolepsy. Which made me laugh at first, and Danny wasn't amused. But you know what? Narcolepsy isn't that funny when you're dating the person who has it.
We had a nice quiet Christmas together, though. Helena went back to England, so it was just me and the Elfman alone for the first time during the holidays. We decorated the tree together, which was fun. I admit I like Christmas. I like decorating the house. So that was a nice until Danny fell asleep while he was setting up the lights and knocked over the tree and set the living room on fire. Next year, we're buying a fake tree. Poor Danny.
And now another year. I'm still taking it easy. I think the boyband movie has been tabled indefinitely, so I'm working on another idea. Hmmm... maybe it's about time Danny and I took Johnny up on his offer to visit him in France. It might be more conducive towards the creativity.

7:25 pm - My favorite day of the year

It's our first Halloween together. At least... our first where Danny's not performing or one of us is otherwise working or I had to play escort to Lisa Marie.
We're off to a Halloween party. We're going as Siegfried and Roy. We've been acting like giddy children all day getting ready. I got my costume designer, Colleen to make our outfits and they're spectacular. And the propmaster from PoA took a huge stuffed tiger and bolted it to a pull-along cart to complete the look.
Happy Halloween, everyone. And thanks again for the flavored condoms, Kevin. They'll come in handy tonight. ;->

Danny and I are back from our three-day weekend in Palm Springs. We stayed at a hotel for gay men. I don't think the 20-something clients appreciated the fact that Danny and I took advantage of the no-clothing option. Fuck 'em. I'm too old to be self-conscious.

Danny asked me to move in with him yesterday. It took me by surprise at first, but as soon as he said the words, of course I said yes.
I remember going to Oingo Boingo concerts when I was a teenager and I worshipped him. I never dreamed he'd want to work with me.
We've always kept it quiet, but I've loved him ever since we worked on Pee Wee's Big Adventure together. It didn't occur to me that I'd be worthy of being loved in return. I just hope I don't fuck things up.

1:22 am - My first trip to the LNC

Got to meet the regulars at the LNC. Poured shots of contraband almond tequila for everyone. Caught up with Johnny there. We got caught up some, talked about industry bullshit, reminisced a little.
Danny, Johnny's invited us to visit him and his family in France. We haven't had a chance to celebrate my recent liberty from the evil clutches of Bitch Girl. And like Johnny said, what better a way to do it than in France. We should definitely make plans. :->

The Hughes Brothers directed Johnny Depp in "From Hell," which I was going to do before I was called away to other projects. And at one point, the Hughes Brothers were originally going to direct "Planet of the Apes," but lost it to me.
Well, I wish them the best. It looks like a good movie.

I think it's bullshit that people are getting angry with each other and acting as if there were real life consequences. And no, I'm not just talking about my situation. I just find the entire thing unbelievable.

Um... okay. Those of you who watched the telethon last night know that things went... not so well with the Oingo Boingo reunion. One might call it an unmitigated disaster.
How to put it delicately. They were a little out of practice. A little out of tune. A little forgetful with the words. A little embarassing. And then there was the thing with Danny singing one song and the other guys singing another. That was not good.
So. Yeah. Danny's locked himself in his studio and he won't come out no matter how long I scratch at the door like a puppy.
You guys - help me cheer him up, will you?
C'mon, poodle. You can't stay in there all day.
